Welcome to the City Forest report at bangorinfo.com

City Forest encompasses more than 680 acres of wildlife and working forest and features more than 4 miles of access roads and more than 9 miles of trails for running, hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing. It is owned by the city of Bangor and open throughout the year.

East and West trails are groomed regularly for cross country skiers in the winter while Main Road, Loop Road, Shannon Drive, and Tripp Drive are plowed for walking. Other trails are open for snowshoers.

The forest is accessible via Kittredge Road and Tripp Drive. Kittredge Road is at the intersection of Hogan Road and Stillwater Avenue, near the Bangor Mall. Tripp Drive is off Stillwater Avenue, 1.6 miles north of the junction of Stillwater Avenue and Hogan Road, just before the kennel and concrete factory. If you're coming from the south on the interstate, you can take either Exit 186 (Stillwater Avenue) or Exit 187 (Hogan Road). If you're coming from the north on I-95, take Exit 187.

Bangor ordinances prohibit hunting at the forest and unauthorized use of motor vehicles on the access roads and trails.
